How to Setup a Website Or Blog

Setting up a blog can seem a bit overwhelming to someone new to the internet. It doesn't matter if you want to start an online business to earn an income or just create a space where your friends and family can read information you want to place in a central location, you will need many of the same skills. This article will provide a brief overview of the steps needed to develop your online presence.

After securing you domain name it will also be necessary to set up a hosting account. Again there will be a vast number of options for doing this. The location where you secured the domain name will most likely have a hosting plan. In my opinion it is better to have your hosting separate from your registration simply because if your host should ever develop problems which would disable your site for an extended period you would still be able to access you domain and change the host. With both at the same location this might not be possible then you would be blocked out of your site until the host was operational again. I feel that this creates an extra step of flexibility should you ever need it.

Once your domain hosting is established you will be ready to set up your site. Installing a WordPress theme is the quickest and easiest way to set up your website unless you are skilled in HTML and wish to design your site from scratch (if you could do this you probably would not be reading this article).
